The weather was superb, the organisation impeccable and to the best of my knowledge there wasn't a single unhappy face within the crowd. This event was a textbook example of how it shoud be. Many thanks to Motorail Logistics, 275 Railway Squadron, M.O.D. Stratford & Broadway Railway Society for providing volunteers and lastly but most importantly the organising team led by Ruth Dunmore. 86401 stood proudly as the camp gatekeeper for the day. One of the totally surreal images where it looked as if it was in someones back garden. 86228 Vulcan Heritage sits in the line of stored class 86s 86248 forms a sandwich filler between two Anglia class 86's in the line up of 11 86's on show in the main siding. A view of the line of stored class 87's seen with a long lens through the trees. This was about the closest that the public could get to the line other than by travelling on the DMU. The clarity of this image is reduced because of ground heat haze. The locos in this view (left to right( are 87017 87029 87018 87032 87023 and 87003.

The occasion was a pre-arranged photo shoot held for members of the EMRPS and organised impecably as ever by Jason Cross featuring two locos 56057 whose home is on the NVR and 56003 which is visiting the line for approx 9 months. This was the first time that the two locos had been seen together in preservation. It should be stressed that this was a private event held under strictly controlled conditions regarding locomotive movements, all participants were wearing appropriate Hi visibility clothing and no one should attempt to take some of the shots displayed here on the public railway under normal operating conditions. Huge thanks should be given to the mebers of the NVR and to the crew and locomotive owners for agreeing to the event. The subject for the say was large logo liveried 56057 British Fuels which was immaculately turned out for the day. All credit must be given to Jason Cross and team whose arrangements were impecable, to Neil and the crew who were very patient even when asked to move the loco just 6 inches to get the positioning absolutely perfect also last but not least to the Nene Valley Railway for the welcome they extended to us.
