I am an occasional visitor to Leicester so I'm sure there are more photogenic locations. I think its still worth including this area merely to highlight the diversity of traction that can be found in different parts of the country.

A forlorn and lonely looking 58005 still sits alone at the back of the Leicester yard where she has been for at least the last 3 years. This loco was designated earlier in the year for service in France but so far nothing seems to have happened towards this.

Strong photographic evidence for the existence of the mythical "101st tug" - well perhaps but actually it's 60016 "RAIL Magazine" that was renumbered on 1st November 2004 to celebrate the 500th issue of the magazine. It was photographed together with 60089 stabled in the yard to the north of Leicester station on Saturday 6th November 2004

On Saturday 3rd July 2004 at Leicester, 43155 was showing visible stress at restarting the HST set on its own (the partner of 43071) was being towed dead on the rear. The train which was a Derby to St. Pancras service had already lost 20 minutes by Leicester due to only running on one power car.
